Saints 'should' be able to host Giants in New Orleans in Week 4

The New Orleans Saints were unable to host the Green Bay Packers in the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana for Sunday's regular-season opener because of complications caused by Hurricane Ida and, instead, had that matchup relocated to TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

During a Wednesday update, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell said the Saints are on track to welcoming the New York Giants to the Caesars Superdome for the Week 4 showdown scheduled to occur Oct. 3:

Saints fans with home season tickets received somewhat of an unintentional boost from schedule-makers in that New Orleans plays at the Carolina Panthers in Week 2 and then travels to the New England Patriots for Week 3.

Words such as "should" and "expect" admittedly do some heavy lifting in such updates because plenty can change over the next several weeks. The Saints play at the Washington Football Team in Week 5, are on a bye the following week, and then are at the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 before they host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Halloween.

The Saints are practicing at TCU until further notice.
