Seahawks reportedly show no interest in trading Russell Wilson

The Seahawks and quarterback Russell Wilson are in a bit of a stand-off that all began when he was noncommittal about whether or not he was an available trade option. The quarterback's comments reportedly did not sit well with the team but despite Seattle's unhappiness, the Seahawks are not currently interested in trading Wilson.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that several teams had reached out to the Seahawks to see if their superstar quarterback was available and so far, the answer has been a resounding no.

"Those teams, from what they have picked up on so far, have gotten no indication that the Seahawks are in any way inclined to trading their star quarterback," Pelissero reported.

This is hardly a surprise. Wilson is still relatively young and has been nothing short of sensational since he was drafted by the Seahawks in 2012, even leading Seattle to back-to-back Super Bowls. And while Seattle may not be happy with Wilson airing out his potential grievances publicly, that does not mean the team is going to suddenly ship him off. The Seahawks likely just want to ensure that Wilson does not make a habit of speculating about being on the trade block.

As for Wilson, in the same interview he mused about not being sure if he was available to be traded, he also said he hopes to spend the rest of his career with the Seahawks. So it's not like he's trying to jump ship. His comments seem to stem from him wanting a larger role in the organization in genereal.
