Seahawks reportedly 'not happy' with Russell Wilson discussing trade rumors

The Seahawks are reportedly not happy with Russell Wilson after the quarterback gave some nice juicy fodder to the rumor mill in a recent interview by implying that he may be available for trade.

On "The Dan Patrick Show," Wilson said he was "not sure" if his long-time team had him on the trading block, noting that that's "a Seahawks question" despite his desire to "play in Seattle forever." Wilson also said he was not happy with how often he has been hit over the course of the career, with the consistent lack of protection causing him to be sacked nearly 400 times since he was drafted in 2012.

The surprisingly candid interview was not well-received by the Seahawks, as Patrick said that the team was unhappy with Wilson publicly airing his dirty laundry.

"A source told me that the Seahawks' management is not happy with Russell Wilson and his camp for taking this to the media," Patrick said. "You wonder if they're going to be able to coexist. ... The current situation is not sustainable. That's what I was told."

So is it actually possible that Wilson could be available for trade? On the one hand, the idea of the Seahawks trading the quarterback who won them a Super Bowl seems absurd. However, an unprecedented number of quarterbacks appear to be on the move this offseason, including Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff being exchanged in a mega-trade between the Lions and Rams. And while it remains highly unlikely that Seattle would actually ditch its franchise quarterback, it seems more possible than ever before.
