The Denver Broncos got their second win of the season on Sunday with an victory over the Green Bay Packers, but coach Sean Payton was left feeling quite unfulfilled.

Payton offered up a bizarre quote on Monday about his reaction to Sunday’s 19-17 victory. The Broncos coach suggested that he spent the evening after the win driving around unhappy while going to get sushi, which he doesn’t even like.

Payton probably should not be happy no matter what. The Broncos are 2-5, and their win over Green Bay was far from impressive. There would be plenty to try to improve upon even if Payton was not a perfectionist.

It has been a poor season for both Payton and the Broncos, with both making their fair share of mistakes. He should probably take the night and enjoy the win. They have been tough to come by in 2023.
