The Seattle Seahawks took their time as the legal tampering period began on Monday at 9am ET. A few key backups and expensive free agents had already reportedly chosen to depart from Seattle to join other teams earlier today. But when it came time to re-signing Noah Fant the Seahawks made their move.

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report reported that the Seahawks reached an agreement today for two years and $21 million dollars. The deal can become official when NFL free agency kicks off Wednesday afternoon.

Noah Fant caught 150 passes for nearly 1600 yards and eight receiving touchdowns over the last three seasons for the Seahawks. Fant is a stabilizing force for the Seahawks' offense, contributing both as a receiver and a blocker. Letting him go would have been a major error.

And after both Colby Parkinson (Rams) and Will Dissly (Chargers) signed elsewhere this afternoon re-signing Fant became even more glaringly important. If Fant had left that would have essentially emptied the entire tight end room.

The Seahawks still have plenty of tough decisions to make in free agency. They now have somewhere around $30 million dollars in 2024 cap space to play with unless they restructure some deals or make additional cuts.
