Former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III had some strong words about who the New York Giants should target during the 2024 NFL Draft. In fact, he laid out a plan for them regarding their first two picks.
RG3's plan for the Giants
- Draft LSU WR Malik Nabers at 6th overall
- Draft Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. in the second round
Wide receiver have often been a landing spot for a QR in round one. That make sense. They need an alpha, top target in their offense to give Daniel Jones any shot at proving himself this year after his injuries in 2023.
That being said, addressing QB early also makes sense. Adding someone like Penix, who has some exciting potential, would be smart. He can push the ball downfield better than Jones, and he's highly regarded for his leadership.
Some folks think he will go in round one. If not, the Giants are a prime spot for him on day two.
Griffin's plan is one that the Giants may choose to use, too. They've shown interest in Penix, along with other QB prospects like Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, and J.J. McCarthy. They've done a lot of homework on these QB prospects.
