The Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday announced some big news about Mike Tomlin.

They announced they have signed Tomlin to a three-year extension that will keep the coach under contract through 2027.

Tomlin is entering his 18th season as the head coach of the Steelers. A three-year extension that takes him through 2027 implies that his current deal was set to expire after the 2024 season.

Tomlin has been Steelers head coach since 2007 and is the longest-tenured coach in the NFL. He has led the Steelers to two Super Bowl appearances, including a championship in his second year on the job.

The Steelers have won the AFC North seven times under Tomlin and made the playoffs three of the last four seasons. Tomlin has gone 8-8 three times and notably has never had a losing season as a head coach.

The Steelers enter 2024 with some optimism. They went 10-7 last season and have added quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, which they hope will provide an offensive boost to go along with their typically strong defense.
