The Pittsburgh Steelers have been in Acrisure Stadium since 2001, but if you ask Team President Art Rooney II, the team is hoping to stay there a lot longer. But with stadiums around the league making changes to their aging homes, Pittsburgh is looking to keep up, and are in the process of following suit.

Rooney told local reports the Steelers are in the process of speaking with consultants to make the upgrades neccassary to keep Acrisure Stadium one of the top places to play, and watch, in the league.

"We are going through a stadium assessment at this point. Really looking at what it's going to take to be in this stadium for the next 10, 20 years, whatever it's going to be," Rooney said. "It's a process, and we've hired some consultants to help us look at it. We like the stadium. It's a great facility. And with the right kinds of improvements, can continue to be our home for a long time."

Rooney joked that the stadium won't be adding a dome anytime soon. The organization is taking feedback from players, while also looking around the league to ensure they are keeping up with other facilities.

"We do look at what are the bench marks around the country. What do players need to be successful these days," Rooney said.

The team is also taking into consideration the family needs of their players, looking into family rooms for post-game and things of that nature.

The Steelers have six years left on their current lease at Acrisure Stadium, and Acrisure itself has a deal in place with the organization through 2036. It's unknown what changes will be made, or when to expect those changes, but Rooney has made it known they are coming, and that the team is looking to modernize their current home in efforts to stay there long-term.
