Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger to unblock Twitter users

Are you one of the many Twitter users who were blocked by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger -- @_BigBen7 on the social media platform -- before Tuesday afternoon?

You may have been and not even known it.

Perhaps you once tweeted him something mean, or poked fun at him following a bad game with a post that included either "Roethlisberger" or "Big Ben" among the character limit.

Good news. You and the many, many people just like you have received reprieves.

On Tuesday, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that at least one person with access to Roethlisberger's Twitter account plans to unblock everybody, perhaps by the end of Tuesday.

Florio added that Roethlisberger doesn't handle the account and, thus, probably wasn't responsible for the original blocking scheme. It's not known if today's news means future blocks will still come for those ultimately deemed unworthy to follow the two-time Super Bowl champion QB.

With Roethlisberger closer to his retirement from the game than his physical prime, perhaps he wants a little more control over his Twitter handle and over who sees posts linked with his famous name.

Or, maybe Big Ben is jealous that former New York Giants signal-caller and two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning is having fun on Twitter.

Manning joined the website for the first time last month.
