Steelers defensive lineman DeMarvin Leal has suffered a head injury and is questionable to return to the game against the Texans. With the injury happening so late in the game, plus the caution around head injuries, Leal will be out for the rest of the game with a concussion.

Leal’s injury opened up more playing time for guys like Keeanu Benton, Isaiahh Loudermilk, Armon Watts, Montravius Adams, and Larry Ogunjobi have continued playing on top of that. He has shown himself to be an adept run defender this season, but Leal’s loss only dents the defensive line depth more, with Cam Heyward still out with a core muscle injury that required surgery.

Leal is the fourth player to be injured and ruled out on Sunday. Dan Moore Jr. suffered a knee injury, Pat Freiermuth is dealing with a hamstring injury, and quarterback Kenny Pickett is out with a knee injury. All those injuries have added to a disastrous day for the Steelers in Houston as the Texans have blown them out. Despite winning two straight games, Pittsburgh’s season remains as much of a question as any in the NFL. Leal’s injury will not help the Steelers get back on track any time soon.
