Steelers fall in latest power rankings

The Steelers have been quite busy since the start of free agency. However, NFL.com's Dan Hanzus doesn't believe they have done enough to keep up with the rest of the league.

Hanzus has Pittsburgh ranking at No. 15, falling two spots from its previous rank.

"[Patrick] Peterson is a compelling addition, but Pittsburgh would be wise to bring aboard a name brand on the other side of the ball," he writes.

The Steelers may not have had the flashiest free agency thus far, but they certainly have not had a bad one. The team added Peterson after losing CB Cameron Sutton, reshaped their linebacker room with Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts and built up the interior of its offensive line with guards Isaac Seumalo and Nate Herbig.

There could be an argument to be made that Pittsburgh should add another weapon for QB Kenny Pickett, but the team has a few other positions of need remaining with several young and talented playmakers already on the roster.

The Steelers also have yet to see what they have in WR Calvin Austin III, their 2022 fourth-round pick.

Hanzus' reasoning may not fully support Pittsburgh's ranking, but the ranking itself does make sense. The Steelers are below 2022 playoff teams like the Ravens and Seahawks and above those who've had some major losses this offseason like the Vikings.

The offseason is far from over with the 2023 NFL Draft in a little over a month and Pittsburgh can certainly strengthen its roster even more to continue rising in the rankings.
