PITTSBURGH — Both nose tackle Montravius Adams and free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will miss another week due to injury for the Pittsburgh Steelers as they visit the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12, and yet another defensive back could miss time.

FULL STORY: Steelers FS Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miss Another Game, OUT vs. Bengals

Adams has been dealing with an ankle injury suffered early in the Steelers’ Week 9 win over the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 2. He was limited in practice all three days this week, but has once again been ruled out. Rookie Keeanu Benton is once again in line to replace Adams as the Steelers’ starting nose tackle and first defensive tackle on the bench in their four-man sub packages.

Cornerback James Pierre is the latest defensive back to be felled by injury. Pierre suffered a shoulder injury during practice this week and is listed as questionable. He did not practice on Friday after being limited on Wednesday and Thursday. Pierre was one of the defensive backs that helped fill in for Elijah Riley after he was injured against the Cleveland Browns. Riley had been playing as the team’s Dime defensive back. He suffered a high ankle sprain and is out at least four weeks while on injured reserve.

Miles Killebrew is the only other healthy safety on the active roster beside starters Damontae Kazee and Trenton Thompson. Darius Rush will likely replace Pierre as the fourth cornerback and key special teamer if the veteran backup can’t play.

Wide receiver George Pickens, outside linebacker Nick Herbig and defensive tackle Cam Hayward, all of which were less than full participants in practice this week, are expected to play against the Bengals.
