The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they are re-signing another longtime veteran franchise player, this time in defensive end William Gholston.

Gholston was a fifth-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Bucs. He is the second-longest tenured player on their roster, next to linebacker Lavonte David. Now entering his 12th season, Gholston has never made a Pro Bowl or been an All-Pro selection but has been a solid staple of Tampa Bay's defense.

Gholston has played more games than any other defensive lineman in franchise history. At 6-foot-6 and 281 pounds, he is an absolute unit against the run and clogging up space in the trenches. He is also naturally one of the locker room leaders and vital veteran presence on the team.

Gholston has recorded 420 career tackles, 19.5 sacks and an interception throughout his career. Now days he's more of a rotational player, but he has missed just one game over his last six seasons. Gholston will be chasing after his first sack since the 2021 season. He'll also be pursuing a fourth consecutive NFC South title with the Bucs and a second career Super Bowl ring.
