Terry Bradshaw dubs Ben Roethlisberger as Steelers greatest QB

Is Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger really a better quarterback than Pittsburgh legend Terry Bradshaw? Apparently Bradshaw has passed the torch to the 38-year-old.

Despite the difference in Super Bowls, Bradshaw dubbed Roethlisberger as the best QB to ever suit up for the Steelers.

"Bobby Layne," Bradshaw said in an interview on 93.7 The Fan, as transcribed by Noah Strackbein of Sports Illustrated. "They always have those contests, don't they? I would give it to Ben [Roethlisberger]. His numbers far exceed mine. I may have won more Super Bowls, but he is a much better quarterback. I wasn't bad in my era, but he's big, strong, accurate, puts up monstrous numbers, and he's won two Super Bowls. I pass that baton to him, gladly. I absolutely have no problem with that. He deserves it."

Unfortunately, Bradshaw noted he doesn't have a relationship with Roethlisberger, and probably never will, so he won't be able to tell him how good he thinks he is in person.

Is Bradshaw right to call Roethlisberger the best Steelers QB? When looking at the numbers, they don't add up.

Bradshaw is a four-time Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler. He went 107-51 in his 14-year NFL career with a 51.9 completion percentage, 27,989 yards, 212 touchdowns and 210 interceptions.

Roethlisberger, on the other hand, is 144-71-1 in his 16-year career with a 64.3 completion percentage, 56,545 yards, 363 touchdowns and 191 interceptions.

So while they may have played in different eras, it seems that Bradshaw is right in saying Roethlisberger is the best.
