Titans extend coach Mike Vrabel, GM Jon Robinson

The Tennessee Titans endured a roller-coaster 2021 season, during which they lost running back and Most Valuable Player candidate Derrick Henry to injury for half the campaign, earned the top seed in the AFC portion of the playoff bracket, and then fell to the Cincinnati Bengals in their only game of the postseason tournament.

Coming off those ups and downs, the Titans have put pen to paper on contract extensions with both head coach Mike Vrabel and general manager Jon Robinson. Exact details of those agreements weren't disclosed.

"I am proud to say that Jon and Mike will be leading our football team for years to come," Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk said for the official release. "I have seen the team improve on a yearly basis under their direction, and I know their singular goal is to deliver a championship for our fans. Together they have developed a culture within our organization that has been essential to our success. Their values align with mine and what I want the Titans to be. They demand excellence from themselves and others, work well together, are always striving to improve and they care deeply for our players and staff."

Robinson accepted the Titans job in January 2016 and helped guide the club to six consecutive winning seasons. Vrabel, meanwhile, became head coach two years later and led Tennessee to the AFC Championship Game for the 2019 campaign, and he recently earned Pro Football Writers of America Coach of the Year honors despite his team's early postseason exit.

Including playoff contests, Vrabel holds an overall record of 43-27 as Tennessee head coach.
