Tom Brady held a workout with his Buccaneers teammates

Tom Brady won't let the COVID-19 crisis keep him from preparing for the upcoming NFL season, as he organized a workout to get some reps in with a few of his new teammates on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Tampa Bay Times was the first to report on the informal practice, along with posting photos of Brady throwing passes to wide receiver Mike Evans and tight ends Cameron Brate and OJ Howard at Berkeley Preparatory School. Center Ryan Jensen, quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin, receiver Scottie Miller and running back Dare Ogunbowale were also in attendance.

While social distancing is still in place due to the coronavirus, Berkeley Prep reportedly has agreed to let Brady and some teammates prepare for the season. Although Dominick Ciao, Berkeley Prep’s football coach the past 13 seasons, said he was not aware of Brady playing on the team's field.

After spending his entire career in New England, the 42-year-old quarterback faces the challenge of having to learn Bruce Arians' offense in Tampa Bay. He has repeatedly shown his intense desire to get caught up, including walking into the wrong house while trying to meet with Bucs offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich.

The workout involved several passing drills and trying to score in the red zone. Brady took advantage of his new deep threats, delivering several deep balls to his receiving targets, most notably Evans. Brady was notably wearing his new Buccaneers helmet.

Receiver Chris Godwin was the most notable offensive player not at the workout and last week, saying how he has missed out on getting to practice with Brady.

"No, not quite yet,'' Godwin said. "And that’s one of the things that really sucks for teams with new quarterbacks. You can’t build that chemistry if you’re not able to get together. This isn’t a problem that’s unique to us. And I have enough faith in the fact that Tom has seen enough ball and played with enough receivers that it won’t be too much of a learning curve whenever everybody is able to get back together.''
