Tom Brady rookie card sells for record $1.32 million
A Tom Brady rookie card sold for a record $1.32 million Thursday on PWCC Marketplace, an online auction house.
The autographed 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket card was graded an eight with a 10 grade on the signature. It was purchased by James Park, who said, "this card is an important piece of sports history."
This Brady card is believed to be the highest-selling football card ever, blowing past a Patrick Mahomes card that recently sold for $861,000.
The price of Brady memorabilia has soared after the 43-year-old won his seventh Super Bowl title with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month. In fact, the QB's autograph is worth double what it was in 2017.
Although this Brady card sold for over $1 million, it doesn't even come close to a Luka Doncic rookie card that sold for a record $4.6 million, making it the highest-selling basketball card in history.
