Perhaps Drew Brees is not ready to retire after al. Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Trainer posts video of Drew Brees workout, hints at QB returning in 2021?

All reports this offseason indicated that Drew Brees would retire. On Saturday, his trainer seemed to suggest otherwise.

Fitness trainer Todd Durkin posted a video to Instagram that shows the New Orleans Saints quarterback pushing a weighted sled. In the video, Durkin can be heard yelling: "Drew, what are you doing? OK, he's never done that! Don't know what he's doing. I'm not sure what he's doing. Never quite been done before! That's a new record because it's never been done before!"

The following words also appear on the video: "Not sure WHY he's so cra-cra today, but something must be brewing."

Brees has not yet retired, and this video seems to indicate that he's training for something. Could it be that he's planning to return for another season? It's unclear at the moment, but the video certainly is interesting.

After falling to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs, Brees told reporters that he would take his time to come to a decision about his future.

If Brees retires, all signs point to Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill competing to be the Saints' starting quarterback in 2021. If he returns, that competition will be put off for another season.
