Travis Kelce responds to Ja'Marr Chase regarding Mahomes 'disrespect'

The Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals have become fierce rivals over the past two years, and it is extending to the offseason with a back-and-forth war of words regarding the best quarterback in the NFL.

This week Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce decided to jump into the fray and throw in his two cents regarding Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase and some comments he made regarding Patrick Mahomes.

When asked during a media scrum about the league's best quarterback, Chase was quick to pick his teammate, Joe Burrow. When somebody made a reference to "Pat," in response, Chase quickly responded with "Pat who?"

That resulted in Mahomes throwing some shade back when the Chiefs received their latest Super Bowl rings.

During his latest podcast with his brother Jason, Kelce offered these harsh words for Chase.

“It is what it is, dog,” Travis Kelce said. “Who doesn’t love some good locker room banter, man? Shoutout to Ja’Marr Chase for holding it down for his QB, but don’t you ever disrespect Pat Mahomes now. If you want to talk your s---, talk your ---, pimp. Just better back it up.”

The two teams have played four games over the past two years, including a pair of classic AFC Championship games with each team winning one of them. The Chiefs got the bragging rights last time time around and turned it into their second Super Bowl of the Mahomes-Andy Reid era.

The Bengals won the previous three meetings before that.

Cincinnati is obviously an outstanding team and extremely confident in its abilities. Burrow and Chase are elite players at their positions and certainly in the discussion for best in the league.

But until they get a Super Bowl ring, the trash talk toward a team with two of them is always going to look a little lame. The Chiefs are happy to call them on that.
