Patrick Mahomes throws shade back at Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase

If you are going to throw shade at the Super Bowl winning quarterback, you better not miss.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase definitely missed, and then got it thrown back in his face by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Earlier this week Chase was involved in an exchange with reporters about who the best player in the NFL is, and he confidently said that it was his teammate, quarterback Joe Burrow. When "Pat" was mentioned in response -- a clear reference to Mahomes -- Chase laughed and responded with "Pat who?"

Mahomes had the perfect response on Thursday night when the Chiefs received their latest Super Bowl ring.

Checkmate, Patrick. Anytime a player can hold up their rings in response to a player that has never won anything it is going to be good. Like when Patrick Roy once said he could not hear what Jeremy Roenick was saying to him because he had his Stanley Cup rings plugging his ears

The Bengals had won three consecutive games against the Chiefs leading up to this year's AFC Championship game, prompting a healthy dose of trash talk from the Bengals that included them referring to Arrowhead Stadium as "Burrowhead Stadium."

The Chiefs ended up getting the best of the Bengals on their way to their second Super Bowl title of the Mahomes-Andy Reid era.

Cincinnati is a fantastic team and a definite contender in the AFC, but it has to be annoying for the Chiefs to keep hearing these chirps coming out of Cincinnati when they have two rings and the Bengals still have none.

It does make for some interesting storylines though.
