Chargers fans have not had a very big presence in the team's first season in L.A. Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Despite continuing to play good football, the Los Angeles Chargers are at the center of one of the most embarrassing stories in recent NFL history. For every single home game this season, the Chargers have seen the road team draw more fans than those who support the newly-relocated Southern California franchise.

Sunday against the Denver Broncos was no different. Boasting a 14-0 first half lead, it became readily apparent that the Chargers were in the midst of a road game at their temporary digs.

This has been par for the course at the smallish StubHub Center, but the optics on Sunday are incredibly bad.

And Twitter let the Chargers know how it felt.

One really has to wonder if this is a sustainable situation until the Chargers themselves move into a new stadium with the Rams in Inglewood in time for the 2020 season. It’s just not a good situation for the Chargers, their players and the NFL as a whole.
