Twitter roasts Dolphins after Tua Tagovailoa taken to hospital with injury

Tua Tagovailoa was carted off the field in the second quarter of the 'Thursday Night Football' matchup between his Miami Dolphins and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Tua took a huge sack from nose tackle Josh Tupou and was unfortunately thrown back on his head and neck. It was a clean but nasty hit, made worse by the fact that Tupou inadvertently rag-dolled the back of Tagovailoa's head into the ground.

Unfortunately, injuries like this are a part of football and the good news is the Dolphins did provide an update saying that Tua "is conscious and has movement in all his extremities."

That hasn't stopped Twitter from sounding off on Tagovailoa's injury, though. The quarterback took a nasty hit to the head in last Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills. He appeared dizzy and stumbled while trying to get back to the huddle, which prompted the Dolphins to take him out of the game in the first half. Tagovailoa eventually returned to the game after being cleared of a concussion, but that didn't stop the criticism of his return or the NFLPA from investigating whether or not the Dolphins actually followed concussion protocol with their quarterback.

Early indications are that the Dolphins did follow protocol, but it was hard to watch Tagovailoa seize up on the field Thursday night and now think about the hit he sustained last week and how it all fits together.

Twitter exploded about that topic, while others simply wished Tagovailoa their best.

Hopefully Tua makes a full and complete recovery.
