Two people file for 'Tompa Bay Gronkaneers' trademark

Sports fans have some unexpected time on their hands with events throughout the United States indefinitely suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That isn't stopping two individuals from attempting to potentially earn extra cash off NFL free-agency transactions.

Unless you've sworn football off until it's confirmed games will take place later this year, you probably heard or read about how tight end Rob Gronkowski ended his NFL retirement after one season to orchestrate a trade from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so he could join quarterback Tom Brady with the Bucs.

On Monday, Darren Hartwell of NBC Sports Boston wrote that two different people have applied for a "Tompa Bay Gronkaneers" trademark.

One person intends to use for "Entertainment in the nature of football games ... (and) fantasy football leagues."

The other wants the trademark for merchandise and apparel.

As Hartwell noted, it seems unlikely either person will win the trademark without being able to prove affiliations with Gronk and/or with the six-time Super Bowl champion QB.

The question is: Are there any Bucs fans out there who would rock a "Tompa Bay Gronkaneers" shirt during the summer and fall months?
