Tyreek Hill on Patrick Mahomes contract: 'I thought he was worth more than $500 million'

Patrick Mahomes now is one of the richest athletes in North American sports history after signing a $500 million deal to remain with the Kansas City Chiefs through the 2031 season. While the price is astronomically high, one player thought Mahomes deserved even more money.

Tyreek Hill, one of Mahomes' top receivers, wasn't shy when discussing the Super Bowl-winning quarterback's new deal and even noted he's excited about the chance to build a dynasty similar to that of the New England Patriots.

"I mean, hell," Hill told TMZ Sports, "I thought he was worth even more!!

"I'm proud of just the Chiefs in general for getting all these deals done, man. Cause they understand right now is our time, like this is our window to be great, for us to build that dynasty and I'm just happy to be along with them."

Hill is referring to the signing of defensive tackle Chris Jones to a four-year, up to $85 million contract last week.

Mahomes and the Chiefs agreed to a record-breaking 10-year, $503 million contract extension earlier this month and it's the first deal to go beyond the 2030s. He'll remain in Kansas City through his age-36 season.

The Chiefs, who traded up to land Mahomes, made the decision to sit him as a rookie. That ended up paying off, though, as he easily carved through defenses in 2018 and joined Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in the 50-touchdown pass club.

Mahomes' playoff performance last season likely helped cement his extension with the Chiefs. The 24-year-old orchestrated three come-from-behind playoff victories to lift Kansas City to their first Super Bowl title in 50 years.
