Veteran punter Thomas Morstead apparently is signing with the San Francisco 49ers.

The former Pro Bowl selection posted a picture of himself Wednesday on social media standing outside of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., with the caption: "Grateful is an understatement!"

Morstead, 39, averaged 40.7 net yards per punt in 17 games with the New York Jets last season.

He won Super Bowl XLIV as a 2009 rookie with New Orleans and made the 2012 Pro Bowl with the Saints.

Morstead has a career net punting average of 41.5 yards in 255 games with the Saints (2009-20), Jets (2021, 2023-24), Atlanta Falcons (2021) and Miami Dolphins (2022).

He ranks second among active players in punts (960) and punting yards (44,944) behind Johnny Hekker, who signed with the Tennessee Titans in March.
