Vikings rookie WR Jordan Addison (ankle) and rookie CB Mekhi Blackmon (shoulder) are both active for tonight's big game against the Packers, despite coming into the weekend with questionable designations.

That's significant news for Minnesota. Addison will be a big part of the Vikings' aerial attack against a struggling Packers defense that is without top cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Eric Stokes. With no T.J. Hockenson (IR), Addison may command even more targets from Jaren Hall as the No. 2 option behind Justin Jefferson.

Blackmon will start at cornerback alongside Akayleb Evans in the absence of Byron Murphy Jr. (hamstring). Andrew Booth Jr. and Jaylin Williams are next in line for snaps at corner.

Here's the Vikings' full inactive list:

  • CB Byron Murphy Jr.
  • S Theo Jackson
  • OL Chris Reed
  • OL Hakeem Adeniji
  • WR Jalen Nailor
  • DT Jaquelin Roy
  • QB Josh Dobbs (emergency third QB)

With Jackson out, Lewis Cine is active as the Vikings' No. 4 safety. Nailor and Roy are also out with injuries. Nick Mullens is the backup to Hall, so Dobbs will only be eligible to play if both Hall and Mullens get injured.

Here's the inactive list for the Packers, which includes one important starter on each side of the ball:

  • WR Christian Watson
  • LB De’Vondre Campbell
  • WR Dontayvion Wicks
  • OL Caleb Jones
  • OLB Brenton Cox Jr.

Kickoff is at 7:20 p.m. on NBC. Happy New Year!
