Vikings to promote Klint Kubiak to offensive coordinator

As one Kubiak retires in Minnesota, another one has risen in the ranks.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Vikings are promoting quarterbacks coach Klint Kubiak to offensive coordinator. He is the son of former Minnesota OC Gary Kubiak.

In an interview with FanSided last week, Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson said he believes Klint will be an even better coordinator than his father.

"I think Klint [Kubiak] is going to come in and do the same or even better," Jefferson said. "If he does [get the offensive coordinator job] it's pretty much going to be the same offense, and we probably wouldn't have to go through a whole new offense."

During the 2020 season, the Vikings ranked fourth in yards, tied for fourth in yards per play, third in first downs and 11th in scoring.

Minnesota is now on to its fifth offensive coordinator in five years.
