Washington's Ryan Anderson makes disturbing comments about his future

Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Anderson, who has delivered his fair share of dirty hits, had some pretty disturbing things to say about CTE.

The 25-year-old plays the game of football hard, maybe even a little too hard, but his reasoning behind why he does so is cause for concern.

"I remember a conversation in the hot tub after practice and I was like, 'Dude, why are you going so hard all the time?,' former tight end Garrett Hudson said on the Redskins Brawl podcast, according to  Sporting News. "And, this is a quote, this is verbatim, he said, 'If I can remember my grandkids' names then I didn't play the game right.' So he is a lunatic. He has the mentality to play the inside linebacker position."

Hearing about Anderson saying something of this nature certainly is jarring, especially with all we know about head trauma and concussions in this day and age. Many players even are forced to retire early after repeated blows to the head, but that doesn't seem to bother Anderson.

Anderson has been with the Redskins since 2017 and had his best season in 2019, finishing with four sacks while playing all 16 games. 

He's one of the NFL's most controversial players, though, and delivered a dirty hit to Greg Olsen last season that ended with him being ejected.
