Watch: Former No. 1 overall pick misses mark with Taylor Swift-Travis Kelce joke

NFL Network analyst David Carr gave a cringeworthy take on superstar singer-songwriter Taylor Swift's and Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce's romance on Monday.

The former No. 1 overall pick and longtime quarterback suggested that if Swift were already in Las Vegas for Super Bowl week, her and Kelce's relationship would be in danger thanks to the good looks of San Francisco 49ers All-Pro tight end George Kittle.

Carr is quickly informed that San Francisco's star pass-catcher has been married to his "college sweetheart," Claire Kittle, since 2019, before the retired signal-caller realizes his mistake.

Carr, the older brother of New Orleans Saints four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr, played from 2002-12, last appearing in Week 17 of the 2012 campaign with the New York Giants.

Kelce was selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft and played in just one game as a rookie due to a knee injury. He's become one of the best tight ends in league history over the last decade, earning nine straight Pro Bowl honors since 2015, making First Team All-Pro four times and helping the Chiefs win two Super Bowl titles.

Kittle was selected by the Niners in the fifth round of the 2017 draft and has made five Pro Bowls in six seasons since 2018. Kittle earned his second First Team All-Pro honor following the 2023 regular season after recording 65 receptions and six touchdowns on 90 targets, as well as his first 1,000-yard seasons since 2019 (1,020 receiving yards).

Rumors of a romance between Kelce and Swift began swirling late last summer and chatter began to grow early in the fall. Those rumors were all but confirmed in late-September moment when Swift and "Mama Kelce" nearly broke the internet, as the duo were spotted sitting together during the Chiefs' Week 3 home contest against the Chicago Bears.

The 14-time Grammy Award-winner and star football player were seen leaving Arrowhead Stadium together after Kansas City's win against Chicago, unofficially marking the start of their relationship.
