Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and Redskins cornerback Josh Norman have quite the rivalry. Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The feud between Josh Norman and Dez Bryant is taking on an added dimension thanks to competing commercials for the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone.

The Washington Redskins cornerback’s spot for the smartphone recently debuted, in which some overt chatter is aimed at the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver’s direction.

Norman is asked during a press conference whether there will be more drama between him and Bryant in the upcoming season. Norman denies that will be the case, but his antics on his smartphone indicate otherwise.

The gist of the ad, via The Dallas Morning News:

In the commercial, Norman is asked by reporters about a picture he posts on Twitter that shows Bryant’s hands replaced with sticks of butter and a picture in which he says “I’m Better Than Dez Bryant.” The commercial fades at the end with a reporter reading Norman’s words, “…Oh Dez, where are you? You are choking on my dust…”

But if anyone thought Bryant would not react to the trolling acted out in the commercial would be sadly mistaken. Although he does so in a surprisingly complimentary way.

The fact that Bryant himself has an upcoming Galaxy Note 8 commercial, which he reveals in the tweet, illustrates this aspect of their feud is all part of a clever marketing gimmick. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course.

While the sight of these two fiery, outspoken and competitive personalities having it out in the endorsement game is indeed amusing, to watch them take their feud on to the gridiron is much more compelling. And the two of course will do so twice these season, on Oct. 29 at FedEx Field and again on Nov. 30 at AT&T Stadium.
