Watch: QB Kirk Cousins shares promising video while rehabbing Achilles

QB Kirk Cousins, who is set to become a free agent this offseason, tore his Achilles during the fourth quarter of the Vikings Week 8 game against the Packers.

Minnesota has been just one of several quarterback-needy teams keeping an eye on the 35-year-old's health the past couple of months. Cousins gave them all a sneak peek of how his recovery is going on Monday.

The 12-year veteran posted two videos of him dropping back and throwing on platform X. It's captioned, "Almost 4 months in now…encouraged by the progress! Grateful for all the help around us."

Cousins' road to recovery seems to be going well, which will only help his market in free agency. He is already viewed as one of the top free agents after throwing for 2,331 yards, 18 touchdowns and just five interceptions before getting injured.

Barring any setbacks, Cousins should be fully healthy by the time camps open this summer, which means he's primed to get another big payday.

Cousins is expected to receive a three-year, $118.14 million deal ($39.3M per year), per Spotrac.

Whether the Vikings will be able to pay him that with All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson also looking to reset the wide receiver market remains to be seen.

However, the NFL did just raise the salary cap by an unprecedented $30 million. That will help Minnesota's efforts to retain both players.

However, if the Vikings are unable to do that, expect teams like the Broncos, Falcons, Raiders and Steelers to do their homework on Cousins.

Cousins revealed earlier this month that he hopes to play at least a couple more years to hit the "15-year threshold." With what seems to be a successful recovery thus far, his options as to where he wants to finish his career will only grow in the coming weeks.
