Watch: Robert Griffin III passionately defends Russell Wilson

ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III passionately defended signal-caller Russell Wilson during Tuesday's episode of "Get Up."

The Denver Broncos announced on Monday that Wilson will be released after the league year begins on March 13.

RGIII said that he's "sick and tired of being sick and tired" of hearing the nine-time Pro Bowler's name being "(dragged) through the mud."

After earning all nine of his Pro Bowls in 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and leading the team to eight playoff appearances and one Super Bowl title, Wilson had two underwhelming seasons with the Broncos.

He missed two games in 2022 (one due to a hamstring injury and one because of a concussion) and was benched for the final two contests during the 2023 campaign.

ESPN's "Get Up" analyst and former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck said in February that he felt "there's a chance" that Wilson would be "out of football" completely this year.

Analyst Mike Tannenbaum floated the New York Jets as a possible fit for Wilson, saying that he could back up four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Another potential contender for the former Super Bowl champion is the Atlanta Falcons.

Wilson recorded a 63.3 completion percentage for 6,594 passing yards, 42 touchdowns, 19 interceptions and a 90.9 passer rating in two seasons with Denver.
