Watch: Russell Wilson’s end-zone INT ends Broncos’ five-game win streak

Down 22-17 with 14 seconds remaining, the Denver Broncos likely felt good about their chances of scoring after getting reaching the Houston Texans 8-yard line.

That feeling lasted just a few fleeting moments, however, as Wilson — on a third-and-goal — evaded a sack only to throw a game-ending interception to Texans safety Jimmie Ward who was covering tight end Lucas Krull.

It was Wilson’s third interception of the game and his seventh of the season. Prior to Sunday, the 35-year-old QB hadn’t been picked off since Oct. 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs — a span of five games and 167 pass attempts.

Houston held a 13-3 lead at halftime, but Wilson led the Broncos back in the second half. His 45-yard touchdown pass to Courtland Sutton in the third quarter pulled Denver to within 16-10, and Wilson added a 1-yard touchdown run early in the fourth to close the gap to 22-17.

Before he was picked off in the end zone, Wilson even led Denver on a 14-play, 72-yard drive to get into the red zone. He was 5-of-9 for 46 yards on the drive before his game-ending interception.

Wilson’s gaffe ended the Broncos win streak at five games. Denver reeled off wins over the Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns to get to 6-5 after losing five of its first six games to begin the year.
