What an Andrew Thomas extension with the Giants could look like

The New York Giants just inked franchise QB Daniel Jones to a huge contract extension this offseason. But the Giants have a couple more extensions on the horizon including, most notably, LT Andrew Thomas.

Following an All-Pro campaign in 2022, Thomas could become one of the highest-paid non-quarterbacks in the NFL. Lucrative deals were handed to offensive tackles in free agency this offseason, resetting the market, and putting Thomas in a position to cash-in on his breakout season.

Texans star LT Laremy Tunsil signed a a three-year deal worth $75M this offseason, making him the highest-paid tackle in NFL history. Thomas is sure to reset that record on his next contract, though.

The Giants "are interested in extending Thomas early," according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic. Thomas' extension "will start at $25M per year." This will make the 24-year-old the highest paid offensive tackle in the NFL.

In 2022, Thomas was selected to the AP All-Pro second team after surrendering a total of just 21 pressures in 16 games, per Pro Football Focus. This breakout season put Thomas on the map as one of the NFL's brightest young stars.

Thomas has proven to be one of the Giants' most valuable players after just three seasons with the team. The fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was one of two offensive tackles to earn a PFF grade of at least 80.0 in both run blocking and pass protection this season.

Needless to say, if Thomas continue to play at this level, he will be worth every million the Giants commit to him.
