Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Aaron Rodgers did not make any announcements on Tuesday regarding his NFL future, but he did reveal another interesting piece of information. Granted, most people probably had no clue what he was talking about.

Rodgers made one of his regularly scheduled appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show” Tuesday. He knew there would be questions about his playing future after his lengthy Instagram post the night before, but he immediately made it known that he has not yet reached a decision. Rather, he says his Instagram post was about expressing gratitude toward all of the important people in his life after he came out of a 12-day panchakarma.

“It’s a cleanse that originated in India,” Rodgers explained. “It’s been going on for thousands of years and it’s something I’ve done in the offseason, so I’m just getting my head above the sand now and seeing what’s going on out there.”

If you Google “panchakarma,” you’ll learn that it is a “method of cleansing the body of all unwanted waste after lubricating.” Some describe it as a detox where everything is cleansed from the body over a period of several days. Rodgers said later in the interview that it was an intense experience but he was up to the challenge.

There were, of course, plenty of Twitter jokes.

Rodgers is big into holistic treatments and therapies. Remember, he petitioned the NFL to consider him vaccinated against COVID-19 after he underwent some sort of homeopathic treatment. Though, he also offered another explanation for why he opted against the vaccine.

We may have learned something new about an ancient Indian cleanse on Tuesday, but we all have to wait a bit longer before we know whether Rodgers will be playing in the NFL in 2022.
