Why the Ravens will continue their record preseason win streak

As another year of preseason games gets underway, the Ravens will try to continue their NFL record 23-game preseason win streak. Here are three reasons Baltimore will build upon it in 2023.

Opponents with questions

The Ravens start their preseason by hosting the defending NFC champion Eagles. It could be their toughest matchup, but it will be surprising if Philadelphia's starters play as the team hasn't seen a ton of roster turnover this offseason.

Baltimore then takes on the Commanders and Buccaneers, both of which have big questions at quarterback.

Washington must decide between veteran Jacoby Brissett and former fifth-round pick Sam Howell while Tampa Bay has a clear quarterback competition of its own after the initial depth chart was released and listed Baker Mayfield "OR" Kyle Trask, a former second-round pick, as the starter.

New offense

The Ravens are implementing a brand-new offense under offensive coordinator Todd Monken, which may mean several of their starters could see some early action to smooth out the kinks.

It has been reported that Baltimore's offense has had some struggles in practice, so much so that "Lamar Jackson punted a ball downfield and threw off his helmet to ground," per The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

It shouldn't be a cause for concern as it is still early, but the offense may be putting in some extra snaps during the preseason.

Tyler Huntley

We've already seen what the Ravens' offense led by Huntley looks like after QB Lamar Jackson missed time with injuries the last two seasons. Huntley even kept Baltimore competitive enough down the stretch to make the postseason.

As the backup quarterback, Huntley will likely see a good percentage of preseason action and will do his best to keep the Ravens' NFL record preseason win streak alive for another year.
