Wild 'Thursday Night Football' matchup between Seahawks and Cowboys makes history

If you're one of the many NFL fans who plead with the TV for teams to stop punting, Thursday night's matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys was right up your alley. The Seahawks and Cowboys apparently opted to give both of their punters the night off, as neither team logged a single punt in a game Dallas eventually won 41-35.

But if that's not quite wild enough, the two teams also made some of the wildest NFL history ever seen. Thursday's game became the first in history that had 75 or more points scored without a single punt, as OptaStats detailed.

There was no shortage of offensive production between the Seahawks and Cowboys, and both teams were efficient on third down, with Seattle converting 9-of-14 attempts and Dallas checking in with 8-of-14 conversions. There were also plenty of big plays and yards in this one, as both teams topped 400 total yards of offense and had north of six yards per play.

Although Dallas dominated the time of possession 36:27 to 23:33, that was largely due to three DK Metcalf touchdowns which resulted in 70-plus yard drives each time, but each one took under two minutes.
