Analyst highlights how dominant Dak Prescott has been

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been playing not only his best football of the season as of late, but also arguably of his entire career. Following Prescott's rough outing against the San Francisco 49ers, a game in which he completed just 58.3 percent of his passes for 153 yards, one touchdown pass and three interceptions in a 42-10 loss, the Cowboys quarterback has flipped the script entirely.

Over the six-game stretch that followed, Prescott has completed 70.9 percent of his passes while throwing for 300-plus yards on four occasions and only falling below 272 yards once. During that same span, he's thrown 18 touchdown passes against just two interceptions while tacking on two rushing scores. Not surprisingly, the Cowboys are 5-1 in those games, with the lone loss being a narrow 28-23 road game against the rival Philadelphia Eagles.

But to take Prescott's dominance over this recent stretch one step further, ESPN analyst Mina Kimes broke down how the Cowboys signal-caller has performed from a quarterback rating standpoint against the man defense, the blitz, under pressure, from both inside and outside the pocket and also on third down. And to put it lightly, Prescott's ranking against other NFL quarterbacks is nothing short of spectacular.

The tweet followed up a post by fellow ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell, who began by detailing that Prescott's quarterback rating of 80.7 since Week 6 is more than 12 points better than every single quarter in the NFL.

While the numbers tell virtually the entire story, Prescott's play has elevated the Cowboys in a massive way during the team's most pivotal stretch of the season. Following that Week 5 loss to the 49ers, the Cowboys dropped to 3-2 on the season and the questions about how legitimate this team is began to circulate. Prescott and the Cowboys are now 8-3, and while they have work to do if they're going to manage to catch the Eagles atop the division, Dallas has a comfortable two-game lead over the rest of the NFC for the first wild-card spot.
