WR Rashard Higgins wants to re-sign with Browns

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Rashard Higgins is set to hit free agency after playing under a contract that reportedly paid him $910,000 in base-salary money for the 2020 season.

Higgins appeared on ESPN Cleveland on Friday and requested that Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry show him the money:

The 26-year-old wideout recorded 37 receptions for 599 yards and four touchdowns this past season, and he built chemistry with quarterback Baker Mayfield during the team's journey that included a playoff win at the Pittsburgh Steelers and a close postseason defeat at the Kansas City Chiefs. As Pete Smith wrote for SI.com, however, Higgins might find a better offer as it pertains to both guaranteed money and targets elsewhere.

Berry said of free agency in January, per Camryn Justice of Cleveland's WEWS-TV:

"We will deal with it really as it goes. You want to retain as many good players as possible. In some situations, it ends up being the right fit, and in other situations, it does not. At the same time, that is something that we have the next several weeks to work through. We really do our best to maintain transparency and communication with all of the guys who have contracts expiring. We will continue to do that and work through those as more of the economic unknowns become known as we get into February and March."

Pro Football Focus is predicting the Tennessee Titans will sign Higgins to a two-year deal worth $5.5 million in guaranteed cash and $10 million total.
