X-rays negative on Buccaneers TE Cameron Brate's neck after leaving on stretcher vs. Steelers

A scary scene unfolded during the third quarter of Sunday's Week 6 matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers when tight end Cameron Brate was removed from the field on a stretcher with a neck injury. According to multiple reports, all scans and X-rays on the Bucs' 31-year-old have come up clean.

The injury occurred after Brate caught a pass and was tackled by Myles Jack. The ninth-year pro remained on the ground for several minutes before being stretchered out, was conscious and moving his arms, and gave the customary thumbs up to the crowd upon his exit.

Sunday's episode comes just two weeks after Brate suffered a concussion in Tampa Bay's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. In that contest, the Harvard product took a friendly fire shot from teammate Chris Godwin, making a catch before running into the back of the wide receiver, who was blocking a Chiefs defender.

Brate came off the field, returned and came off the field again, only to be ruled out with the concussion.
