The Arizona Cardinals released an injury update after Bam Knight exited Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
The team posted on X that Knight was ruled out for the remainder of the game with an ankle injury. Linebacker Cody Simon was also ruled out with a knee injury.
Knight went down early in the first quarter. His left ankle was pinned under a Texans defender during a tackle. He was carted off the field and taken to the locker room. Soon after, the team listed him as questionable before ruling him out.
"RB Bam Knight (ankle) and LB Cody Simon (knee) have been ruled out for the remainder of the game." Cardinals wrote on X.

NFLreporter Joss Weinfuss shared further details during the broadcast. He reported that Knight could not put any weight on his left ankle. He added that Knight was in significant pain before leaving the field. The injury raised immediate concern given Arizona’s thin backfield.
Before exiting, Knight recorded one carry for minus two yards. His absence forced the Cardinals to adjust quickly. Michael Carter and Emari Demercado became the primary running backs. Rookie Corey Kiner was also available but has yet to log a touch this season.
The injury added to a rough start for Arizona. The Cardinals fell behind 17-0 after the first quarter. Houston continued to control the game, pushing the lead to 23-7 by halftime. Arizona struggled to sustain drives while the defense stayed on the field.
Knight has been a key piece despite a difficult season. He leads the team with 271 rushing yards and four touchdowns. He has also contributed as a receiver out of the backfield. Injuries, however, have slowed his momentum.
Arizona sits at 3-10 and last in the NFC West. Injuries have piled up across the roster. With the playoffs out of reach, the focus has shifted toward evaluation. Knight’s status moving forward will be closely watched as the season winds down.
