The Chicago Blackhawks placed forward Rem Pitlick on waivers on Wednesday.
Acquired in a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Jan. 6, Pitlick has yet to record a point in nine games with the Blackhawks. He's also been a healthy scratch for several contests despite the Blackhawks dealing with a handful of injuries.
The forward's best season came in 2021-22 when he scored 37 points (15 goals, 22 assists) in 66 games between the Minnesota Wild and Montreal Canadiens. Pitlick has since bounced between the Wild, Penguins, and Blackhawks organizations.
If Pitlick clears waivers, the Blackhawks will have the option to assign him to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.
