Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss six weeks due to a fractured jaw, the team announced Saturday.

Jenner was struck in the face by the puck off a shot from teammate Ivan Provorov during the second period of Columbus' 5-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Friday. Jenner did not return to the contest.

Jenner, 30, has recorded a team-leading 13 goals to go along with five assists in 29 games this season.

Named the seventh in captain franchise history on Oct. 12, 2021, Jenner has totaled 347 points (183 goals, 164 assists) in 686 career games since being selected by Columbus in the second round of the 2011 NHL Draft.
