It's no secret that the Colorado Avalanche have a squad full of speed.

The St. Louis Blues don't, but one skater that I felt skated well on Wednesday in a 4-1 loss against the Avalanche at Ball Arena was Kasperi Kapanen.

The forward had a nice assist on the Blues' lone goal scored by Robert Thomas, but I thought he fit in nicely on that top line including Pavel Buchnevich.

Kapanen was one of the few skaters on the Blues who used his speed to his benefit and has been so consistently in the first eight games; he finished with 19:10 ice time, four shots (three on goal), a takeaway and two blocks, but in a game where -- much like the Blues season -- there was plenty of ups and downs for the visitors, Kapanen was one guy that stuck out on the positive side.
