Scott Perunovich is slowly progressing up the depth charts for the St. Louis Blues.

And on Saturday, they thrust the defenseman up in the lineup of a 5-1 loss against the Los Angeles Kings on at Crypro.com Arena on Saturday.

Sure, there are no eye-popping numbers to speak of, but Perunovich, playing in his fifth straight game, finished with 17:42 of ice time and skated in the third period with Colton Parayko.

Perunovich finished even on the plus-minus chart, but again used his stick to his advantage, whether transporting the puck up the ice or breaking up plays in the defensive zone and the coaching staff noticed it too.

He had one hit, one takeaway and one blocked shot to go with one shot attempt. Perhaps you'd like to see Perunovich shooting more pucks from the point, whether simply throwing a wrister towards the net for a tip, a redirection, through a screen, whatever, or even wind up a slapper but that should come with more time and reps.

Will we see Perunovich playing with Parayko Sunday night in Anaheim on a more regular basis? Possibly. He's not hurting himself at the moment and even in a rough loss, played adequately enough to earn more ice time.
