Robert Thomas, a member of the St. Louis Blues who was a part of the 2018 Team Canada World Junior team, has denied involvement in the alleged sexual assault that featured eight members of the team.

Thomas, who turned 23 years old in July, posted a statement on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday regarding the matter…

Thomas joins Conor Timmins, Victor Mete, Cale Makar, Dante Fabbro, Carter Hart, Cal Foote and Jonah Gadjovich as members of the 2018 team who have denied their involvement in the alleged incident.

Back in April, a woman filed a lawsuit against Hockey Canada alleging that she was sexually assaulted by eight members of Canada’s World Junior team in June 2018 in London, Ontario, following a Hockey Canada event celebrating the team’s gold medal win.

The suit was settled in May before reaching court, but the National Hockey League is set to launch an investigation into the situation. All of the players on the team will be involved in the NHL’s investigation.

Last week, Thomas signed an eight-year contract worth $65 million with the St. Louis Blues.
