Blues trade Zach Sanford to Senators for Logan Brown, 2022 conditional pick

The St. Louis Blues have traded forward Zach Sanford to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Logan Brown and a 2022 conditional draft pick, the franchise announced Saturday.

The conditional draft pick is removed from the deal if Brown plays more than 30 NHL games during the 2021-22 season.

Sanford spent four of his five NHL seasons with the Blues. Last season, he tallied 16 points (10 goals, six assists) in 52 regular-season games. He totaled 71 points (36 goals, 35 assists) in 183 regular-season games with St. Louis and helped the franchise capture the Stanley Cup in 2019.

Brown, a St. Louis native and the son of former Blues defenseman Jeff Brown, was drafted 11th overall by the Senators in 2016. Last season, he tallied nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 13  games with the AHL's Belleville Senators.

The 23-year-old has appeared in 30 NHL games across four seasons, tallying nine points (one goal, eight assists).
