Canadiens star goalie Carey Price practices in full gear for first time this season
It's been a long road back to the crease for Montreal Canadiens netminder Carey Price.
The decorated goaltender took a step closer to returning to his post between the pipes on Wednesday when Price was spotted practicing in full gear.
Price, 34, has yet to play for the Habs this season after having offseason surgery and then spending time in the NHL's rehabilitation program to battle a substance-abuse problem.
The Vancouver native has been a mainstay for the Habs since the 2007-08 season. Drafted fifth overall by Montreal in the 2005 NHL Draft, Price owns a 2.50 goals-against average and .917 save percentage over 695 career starts.
His trophy case is well-stocked as well, including Hart, Vezina, Pearson and Jennings Trophies all won after the 2014-15 season and a gold medal won with Team Canada at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. Price is still on the hunt for his first Stanley Cup, which the Habs had the opportunity to hoist last year before being beaten four games to one by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
