The Jacksonville Icemen have announced that they have re-signed forward Logan Cockerill for the 2024-25 season. Cockerill played in 63 games during his rookie season, putting up ten goals and 27 assists for 37 points; he would add two assists in seven games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Prior to joining the Icemen, the former seventh-round pick by the New York Islanders in the 2007 NHL Draft would spend five seasons at Boston College, including being the captain of the Terriers in his final two years. In 134 games with BC, he would put up 24 goals and 33 assists for 57 points. Once finishing up at Boston College, the Michigan native would spend a year in Sweden, where he put up seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 31 games.

Jacksonville has now re-signed one-half of the Cockerill Combo as defenseman Garret Cockerill put up five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 50 games in his third season with the Icemen and seventh in the ECHL like his brother Garret would pick up two assists in seven games during the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The Icemen have had a solid off-season as they’ve been fortunate only to lose one player to Europe so far this off-season in Jacob Panetta, as they now have three players signed for the 2024-25 season; all three players had spent last season with the Icemen. Heading into next season, expect Cockerill to continue to be a mainstay in the Icemen line and be a player who could put up 15-20 goals in his Sophomore year.
