Evander Kane's hat-trick helps Oilers extinguish Flames in Game 3

A huge four-goal second period highlighted by three goals from Evander Kane buoyed the host Edmonton Oilers to a 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals on Sunday night. With the victory, the Oilers now hold a 2-1 series advantage in the best-of-seven set.

Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid were instrumental in the win for Edmonton as well, notching four and three assists respectively. Picking up the victory in net was Mike Smith, who made 32 saves.

The Oilers are now two wins away from reaching the Conference Finals for the first time since 2006, when they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals and lost to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Game 4 between Calgary and Edmonton will take place at 9:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
